Saudi Arabia and US agree to landmark nuclear deal for civilian purposes

The US and Saudi Arabia have agreed to a civilian nuclear deal allowing Riyadh to build nuclear reactors using American technology. The deal had stalled for years over a requirement for Saudi Arabia to normalise relations with Israel – a demand that was dropped in the final deal.
